Match Report: Our first game of the new season ended with a convincing 4 - 0 win away from home. The boys worked hard from start to finish and went in to an early 2-0 lead thanks to two very similar goals, both from left wing corners. We were solid at the back restricting the home team to a handful of half chances. It was 2-0 at half time and we really should have added more than the two more goals we managed to get in the second half. Still missing too many good chances but all in all a very satisfying start to the new campaign.

Match Report: Our first league game of the season and what a cracker! A very evenly contested game with some excellent pass and move football by both sets of players with a fantastic attitude, especially during the freak rain shower in the second half. 

We were unlucky not to score a few more goals hitting the post twice and going very close on several occassions after some great build up play. Lots of positives from this game and a few things to improve on too. Well done all the boys.

Match Report:

Phew! We managed to come out on top in a 5 goal thriller! This was a very even contest on a baking hot day...not what we expected in October! 

Newton Longville started very well putting us under a lot of pressure straight from the kick off but we were well organised at the back and determined not to concede. We gradually found our feet and went ahead with a good goal mid way through the 1st half. The home team went close with a couple of good efforts, one hitting the post from distance before we added another just before half time.

The home team again started well and pulled a goal back early in the 2nd half with an unstoppable shot that flew in the top corner. We didn't let our heads drop though and continued to battle for possession in midfield. Our two goal lead was restored when their goal keeper failed to cut out a left wing cross and left us with an easy tap in.

Five minutes to go and we were looking comfortable when they again pulled one back with a carbon copy of their first goal. This gave them a lift and they had a real go in the last few minutes but our defence and goal keeper held strong to keep them out.

A great result against a good team. Well done all the boys - again!

Match Report:

Round 2 of the cup and again we were drawn away from home, this time against a team in our own division so we knew it would be evenly matched. A bright and warm autumn day and the first time out for our 'John Lewis' sponsored new kit!!

We took the lead after 5 minutes and despite being second best for most of the 1st half we managed to keep our noses in front. We improved in the 2nd half and doubled our lead up with about 10 minutes left. It was typical cup tie stuff, real end to end and the Falcons pulled one back with a few minutes to go setting up a nail biting finish but we managed to hang on.

The boys were well below par today but  worked hard and deserve a lot of credit for grinding out the win. So we're through to the last 16 from an initial 64 and yes the games will get even harder but WELL DONE everyone.

Match Report: Another great friendly against a team we've got to know very well over the last few years. We kicked off and immediately showed what we are capable of as we knocked the ball about, stringing together six or seven passes involving several players. It was great to watch and although we made the early running, it was Rangers who broke away to take an early lead against the run of play.

We kept pressing but Rangers doubled their lead a few minutes later with another goal on the break. We played some great football but Rangers defended well and chances were few and far between. 2 - 0 to Rangers at half time. 
 
We knew the next goal would be important and started the second half strongly, really taking the game to Rangers. We showed great commitment and desire to pull one back but despite making several good chances we just couldn't find the target. It ended 2 - 0 to the home team.
 
The boys worked very hard once again and were disappointed as they deserved at least a draw. If they keep knocking the ball around like they did today and playing as a team they will do very well. Well done boys, keep it going.

How we lost this game I will never know! 

Both teams observed a minutes silence before the game ahead of Rememberance Day and were a credit to their clubs.
 
It was one way traffic for the first 20 minutes as we played some of our best football to date and carved out at least six clear cut chances but yet again we just couldn't finish it off with a goal. We hit the post and their goal keeper pulled off some great saves but it just wouldn't go in for us. Then the home team hit us on the break and grabbed a goal against the run of play just before half time.

The boys kept going and although the second half was more even, we put them under a lot of pressure with several goal mouth scrambles it just wasn't to be. They had chances to double their lead as we tired towards the end but our defenders did a great job keeping them out.

We were the better team today for long periods but the better team doesn't always win. There are plenty of positives to take from the match and our philosophy of playing pass and move football as a team is there for all to see. Well done boys, fantastic effort.. Keep listening and working hard and the goals will return.

Match Report:

A very competitive, evenly matched game on a cold and windy November day . The away team won the toss and decided to play with the wind behind them. They started brightly but we soon got in to it and the early exchanges were fairly even. Olney then took the lead with a well floated left foot shot from outside the box finding the top corner of our goal. Not much we could do about that - it was a great strike.

We responded well carving out several good opportunities to equalise but it just wouldn't go in - again! We kept pushing and just when it looked like it we had managed to score the ball hit the post and was cleared. We forced several corners in a row and eventually got the equaliser we deserved when a shot from inside the box went in off their defender. At last a goal! 1-1 at half time.

We had the wind behind us second half and started well. We played some good football at times, knocking it around well on a difficult, bumpy surface. Several good chances came and went with their goal keeper making some good saves. We had Olney camped in their own half for long periods and when they did manage a few breakaways (no not the biscuits!) our defenders kept their discipline and were there when needed. 

We really went for it in the last ten minutes and created a few clear cut chances but again missed the target. We just couldn't get the winner and it ended with honours even.

A great effort by all the boys from both teams  - well done! If only we could hit the target! If we keep working hard in training and continue to play good football we'll soon start hitting the net again.

Match Report:

Our first match for two months was played on a cold January morning and a heavy muddy pitch. We started really well, knocking the ball around with confidence but without creating any clear cut chances. The Whirlwinds took the took the leadagainst the run of play as we were too slow reacting to a break away down the right. This lifted them and they created a few more chances without taking any.
 
So a goal down at half time with everything to play for. The second half continued to be close. We pushed for the equaliser creating a few chances but the conditions made it difficult to play our normal game. We went close with a free kick which was well saved but Woburn then doubled their lead slotting home from close range after winning a corner.

We bounced back immediately as Travis skilfully weaved his way through their defence straight from the kick off and found the corner of the net. We pushed hard for the equaliser in the last ten minutes but just couldn't find a way through.

All in all a good run out - well done all the boys from both teams.

Match Report:
Another friendly against a team two divisions above us and we gave them a very good game. The boys started well and it was quite evenly matched for most of the first half with the Rhinos creating the better chances. Harvey hit the post following a good move down the left and then, right on the stroke of half time, they took the lead with a header from a great corner.

We continued to work hard in the second half playing some good football as we pushed hard for the equaliser. It just wouldn't come and the Rhinos created more chances on the break. Oliver kept us in it with some great saves but they eventually went two up with a good finish from inside the area.  They grabbed a third towards the end to secure the win.

A fantastic effort from our boys who have only played two games so far this year. We had four players missing today and the boys who played gave their all for the team. Well done boys!

Match Report: Another good performance and a game we really should have won. We started well playing our pass and move football and carving out a number of very good early chances but were unable to find the target.

Tattenhoe defended well and began to make a few chances themselves on the break. Although we were solid at the back, it was an unfortunate mix up from our own goal kick that allowed the home team to take the lead just before half time.
. 
So a goal down at half time but playing very well, the boys continued where they left off  and it was one way traffic for most of the second half. Again, chances came and went and just when we thought it was never going to go in, Regan unleashed an unstoppable right foot shot to level the score.

We continued to press for another goal that would give us a deserved win but it just wouldn't come and to add to the drama, we even survived a couple of scares at the back before the final whistle!

The team is now performing well as a solid unit and playing entertaining football. Well done boys - keep it going!

Match Report:
We were well below our best today and although we had plenty chances it just wasn't our day. All credit to Great Horwood who played very well and worked hard for the result.

We started slowly and the warning signs were definetely there as Great Horwood created a few early chances. We went a goal down after 10 minutes and then started to play a bit of football but our final ball and some poor finishing let us down. Fortunately,  the visitors missed a couple of good chances towards the end of the first half so it was 0 - 1 at half time.

We showed some improvement in the second half and after a few promising attacks that came to nothing, Luke finally got the equaliser poking the ball over the line from close range. That gave us a boost and we almost took the lead straight from the re-start. We created but missed some decent chances and when we did find the target, their goal keeper made some good saves, one with his finger tips from a great effort by Dominic. The visitors caught us on the break a few times as we pushed forward and they eventually converted one of their attacks to re-take the lead with around 10 minutes to go.

The boys gave it a go in the last 10 minutes but just couldn't find the equaliser. This was our worst performance for some time and but we're sure the boys will bounce back after the holidays. Thanks to all the parents and relatives for your fantastic support once again. Happy Easter everyone!

Match Report:
A much improved performance against a very good team. We started slowly conceding a very soft goal in the 1st minute but we gradually played our way in to the game and deserved to be on level terms at half time. We hit the post and went close on several occasions with great build up play but it just wouldnt' go in. 1-0 down at the break.

We pushed hard for the equaliser in the 2nd half but the home team were solid at the back. We got some good crosses in to the box but couldn't find a way past their keeper. Wanderers then hit us on the break to go 2-0 up with a swift move down their left that was very well finished. We were unlucky with the 3rd goal which was a cross that went in and the 4th goal which hit the post and looked like it didn't cross the line but the referee gave the goal. No wonder people are cying out for goal line technology!!

Overall an excellent performance by our boys who all gave 100% and did us proud. On a different day with a bit of luck the score could have been very different.
